While your away...

I'm always looking for ways to improve my holiday experience. These are some of the tips I've implemented during my recent experiences.

Important Documents

Make digital and paper copies (laminated is even better) of your passport and driver's

licence and keep them on you.

It is easier to replace your passport if you have a copy of

your existing one.

Cultural Differences

Be respectful of cultural differences; many countries have modesty laws on what it is

appropriate to wear and how to act. Do your research before you depart. I've found ChatGPT to be very helpful in answering simple questions about cultural differences in other countries.

Credit Card

Payment Options

Generally Visa and Mastercard are wildly accepted, although Diners Club and American Express are common at larger operators. Its always best to have at least one back up payment option.

Free Wifi

Have a VPN on your phone and stay away from using public WIFI. The security cannot

be guaranteed.

English Japanese Dictionary

Learning Key Phrases

Learning key phrases in your destination's local language will enhance your trip greatly.

Duolingo and Google Translate are free options and can be downloaded from the app

store or Google Play.

Money

Wise Card

Personally I use Wise as my preferred payment option when I'm travelling and making purchases in different currencies. Click here for my referral link
