Relaxing back into the "Real World"
These ideas are a good place to start to make your transition back to the "Real World" easier.
Washing!
Tackle that washing basket as soon as you unpack. One step further is to do several
loads of washing and then just pop down to the laundromat to dry it. This is especially
handy if the weather isn't great.
You've just had an amazing journey and met wonderful people. Don't react to mail that may have piled up or missed calls and messages. These can wait. If you do feel the need, set a timer for 20 minutes to skim all relevant information then set piles of what you need to take action on and what can wait.
Create a Online Grocery Order
Prior to your arrival, Schedule an online shop, or meal kit order. This will help you get back into the routine of preparing meals without the stress or hassle of visiting a grocery store.
Celebrate the Memories
Celebrate the memories and ponder what you loved about your trip. These moments of
clarity can give you excellent insight into what you loved and, even better, what you want to experience on your next holiday. A wonderful way to do this is by creating a photo book. Shutterfly is a great place to start and you can do most of it through your phone!
Exercise...
Exercise! You may not want to hear this one, but some gentle stretching or cardio exercise can be a relief after having sat on a 12-hour flight. I personally love Pilates or a great walk.
Unpack Immediately
I'll admit I am not always the best at this, but getting unpacked as soon as you get home will reduce the dread of having washing hanging over your head. Plus you'll be able to try on all your new purchases from your trip! Its worth it.
