What do Fences, Bespoke Itineraries and Experience all have in Common? Read on to find out.

Updated: Nov 28, 2023

Imagine for a moment that you're a builder, your niche is building an exceptional fence. However, your skills don't just apply to one aspect of the building industry. The skills required, creating straight edges, concreting and understanding what wood to use, can all be applied to other areas of the building industry.

Before you ask, NO! I'm not a builder, but I want to make a point. This metaphor applies to myself and my business as well. I've had people assume that I only book airfares. As an Independent Travel Broker (bonded to World Travellers Napier) I can and love booking any form of travel - cruises, trains, tours and everything in between!

Where my benefits really shine are bespoke itineraries (I promised I was more than airfares). This means I curate and design a trip just for you and want you desire. It starts with asking the right questions, these are clear and open; I want to understand what your trip intention is and who you are as a person. This gives me the best opportunity to get to know you. These answers are then fused with my scope and experience (30 years and counting). The result is an itinerary that is YOUR trip - definitely not off the shelf.

Scope and Experience are pivotal techniques I am constantly developing. I continually open myself up to new experiences, ways of travelling that my have not been previously considered. As an example, my husband and I recently stayed in a hostel (private room) in West Hollywood. We found this to be the perfect balance between cost and freeing up more funds to enjoy and experience the city.

My tagline for my business from the start has been "sharing in the love of travel" and I stand by this. It has guided me when booking experiences for my clients and also my own travel! I get most excited when its a trip I would want to experience myself. I've explored some important key points in this article so far, but there's a final point I wanted to make. I do have clients who just book airfares with me and this is completely okay. However the "REAL" benefits of using a Travel Broker are booking your entire trip with me. I cover everything from working with airlines during schedule changes to ensure they don't impact your plans; Getting you the right insurance and assisting you throughout the claims process; Supporting you at every step in your journey - I am always a phone call away!

In one sentence, I am with you at every step in your journey. Imagine getting stuck in Istanbul (Fun Fact: I have successfully gotten a client out of Istanbul safely) or you've ended up in hospital. These are both worse case scenarios, but having someone to help coordinate organise the 'invisible' work of these situations removes so much stress and mental anguish.

My goal for this article was to explain and clarify what I can offer you and the benefits that arrive through planning your trips with me. I may not be a builder, but I have a diverse scope of knowledge and skills that I can leverage to create your perfect getaway along providing ongoing support and assistance. I am always "sharing in the love of travel".
